Huskies Dumped by Texas Tech
Blog - Basketball Blog

The mighty Huskies basketball team, proudly ranked #12 in the nation, were unceremoniously dumped by unranked Tech on Thursday.  The non-conference defeat for the Huskies, who already have such impressive wins as Belmont, Wright State, and Montana, is their first loss of the season.  The Huskies, who routinely refuse to play a non-conference games with Gonzaga as part of a home-and-home arrangement, instead will have their next non-conference barn burner against Cal State Northridge, followed by three straight games against ranked opponents.  With that gauntlet, the pups could very well have four losses by Christmas, before even setting foot in Pac-10 play.  But rest assured Lorenzo Lovers,  i'm sure there is Romar to come.

Romar on Hot Seat?
Blog - Basketball Blog

Former Husky homer Ted Miller has posted a Pac-10 Basketball roundup at ESPN.com, in which he speculates that Lorenzo Romar may be on the Hot Seat.

"Two consecutive mediocre seasons (which ended with the Huskies failing to earn NCAA tournament berths) and losing seven straight to rival Washington State have left a small but growing minority of fans wondering whether the magic is gone."

The magic?  Yeah, Ted, I'd say it's gone.  I'd say it's been gone for a while.  In fact, if this team was running on magic, it probably left the day that the team magicians left.  Remember this?
