Fresh off their 2009 Women's Softball National Championship, the 2009 edition of the Huskies Women's Football Team is set to kick off against LSU this Saturday. With the scent of national championships so fresh in the minds of Dawg fans, what are the expectations for this litter of pups? Spend a few minutes around Seattle and it'll become clear that, as many are claiming, a bowl game is apparently not out of the question. This from the team that won as many games last year as my asshole won, and who, many would argue, stunk worse. (Did I mention that 2008 commemerative "Winless" t-shirts are currently on sale, discounted from last year's prices, starting at just $12 bucks?) Yes, if enthusiastic tweets are any indication, the Huskies are in for a big year. We see such enlightening entries as "Mock game went great! Now headed to 'Raise the Woof!'" (did the mock game include fireworks and smoke during the introductions?) and "Even the managers know about the DAWG CLAW." Anyone want to venture a guess why Jake Heaps bailed on this clown? Strangly, the Jesus Locker hype seems to be overshadowed this preseason by the Sarkheisel myopic group-think. (Did I mention that we also have Sarkheisel t-shirts in a classic, Porky's style design to compliment the antics of our favorite new cheater?) One thing is for certain: the 2009 edition has a tough act to follow, but we can at least sit back and enjoy the ongoing antics of this hilarious program.
