Gilbertson Sabotaged Tenure to Honor WSU Heritage

Keith Gilbertson revealed in an interview yesterday that he has deep roots as a Washington State Cougar. This revelation helps to explain his performance at the helm of the Huskies, which was marred by disastrously poor losing seasons, program-crippling bad recruiting classes, and poor posture.

Gilbertson revealed that his Wife, Father, Mother, Uncle, Aunt, Neice, Nephew, and Daughter all have WSU connections, and that he had "a family of cougars."

The disclosure of Gilbertson's sabotage comes as a shock to the UW community, who had previously been of the impression that their horrible failures during that era were just the normal continuance of their general ineptitude. But Gilbertson made it clear that within the program, he was ostracized by his peers and the community, which may have contributed to his motivation for attempting to destroy the program.

“I was the odd man out,” he admits.

The comments spawned from a "dumb question" asked by a reporter about whether his Husky allegiance clouds his relationship with former WSU Cougar WR Michael Bumpus. This seemingly dumb question led to a revelation that was reminiscent of the revealing of the identity of "Deep Throat" from the Watergate scandal.

Listen to the "dumb question" and response here.
