Ducks demolish Huskies; Locker outplayed by manyThe Oregon Ducks destroyed the lowly UW Huskies in what turned out to be a brutal opening game 44-10 loss to the Ducks, the fifth consecutive loss to their rivals, highlighted by the poor play of "The One," Jake Locker. Locker was outplayed by no fewer than four Ducks players, as he was out passed by both Duck QBs (2nd and 3rd string, as 1st string QB Nate Costa is out for the year) and out-rushed by two Duck running backs. Despite the Honks cliams of Locker signaling in a Return to Glory this season, Locker and the rest of his inexperienced teammates showed what they are truely made of, as they crapped all overthemselves with poor play. Lost fumbles, 6 and 16 yard punts, three sacks, dropped passes, and a terrible defense that allowed 496 total yards were the hallmarks of this blowout. Today's local papers read like something you'd see here on HuskiesSuck.com, so much so that it is worth sharing some prime excerpts and highlights, with key points in bold:"As usual, Oregon stomps Huskies" - Seattle PI 'Another Oregon game, another beating." "The Washington Huskies presented the same-ol' in a 44-10 loss -- the fifth consecutive one to their archrival -- and the worst." "Quarterback Jake Locker was inaccurate" "He was the team's leading rusher with 16 carries for an unimpressive 57 yards." "The defense was porous-- despite the Ducks playing with their third and fourth-string quarterbacks" "Even the special teams seemed to regress with shoddy tackling, inconsistent punting and a poor handling of returns" "...they were outdone in every facet of the game." "The Huskies defense languished. It missed tackles and watched as long plays transpired..."
"Ducks keep Jake Locker in check for 44-10 win" - Seattle Times "The Ducks dominated UW." "Second-half meltdown by the Huskies " "Oregon scored easily" "We're still deficient in our run game." - Tyrone Willingham
"UW’s crushing loss" - News Tribune "A fairly lackluster ride." "Frustrating blunders of inexperience." "Turned out to be a pretty methodical beating." “There’s no area we can say we feel comfortable about.” - Tryrone Willingham "Huge and obvious miscues " "Huskies’ defense somehow seemed to totally lose track of Oregon receiver Jaison Williams."
